Weichelt, William (1899 - 1991)
William F. Weichelt, 91, Bethel Living
Center, Arpin, died Sunday, May 5, 1991. Funeral services were held
Wednesday, May 8, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church,
Granton. Rev. Herbert Biermann officiated and burial was in
Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Grandsons and great-grandsons served as
pallbearers.
William F. Weichelt was born July 8, 1899, in the town of
Auburndale, to Ernest and Augusta (nee Auerback) Weichelt. He
received his education in the town of Hewitt. After school he began
farming with his parents. He later was a cook in the logging camps.
He married Dorothy Lutz Oct 14, 1924, in Hewitt. She survives. He
then farmed in the town of Hewitt and was a carpenter for many
years. He moved to Granton in 1937 and farmed there until 1961. He
retired and moved to the village of Granton, but still worked
part-time at the sale barn in Granton and continued in the
carpentry business until 1982. He was a member of Zion Lutheran
Church, Granton Granton Senior Citizens was past church council
member and a past school board member for Lynn and Granton
Schools.
Survivors include his wife one son, Clarence W. Weichelt,
Pittsville two daughters, Mrs. Carole Grobe, Marshfield and Mrs.
John (Joyce) Nelson, Yorba Linda, Calif. one brother, Herman
Weichelt, Marshfield 16 grandchildren 29 great-grandchildren two
great-great-grandchildren three step-great-grandchildren and five
step-great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and five
brothers.
Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, handled the arrangements.
